The Handlers Position
A handler should position themselves and the horse in a triangle, the horse is the base of the triangle and the lunge line and whip are the longer lengths, which leaves the handler to become to tip of the triangle. The handler should stand opposite with the horses’ forehand. The lunge line should keep a constant contact just like when riding; the lunge whip should replace the rider’s legs by pushing the horse on (Linington-Payne, 2013).
